Trauma

Whether it’s a single event, ongoing stress, or years of relational wounds, trauma changes the way you move through the world. It might be tied to a specific experience or stem from the cumulative impact of childhood neglect, workplace stress, or harmful relationships.

However it shows up, trauma changes the way you think, feel, and respond. You might not even call it trauma yet. Maybe you’re noticing that certain situations or relationships make you feel small, scared, or confused. Not knowing exactly how you feel is okay. You don’t need to have it all figured out before starting therapy — figuring it out is part of the work.

Anxiety

Living with anxiety can feel like you're constantly under pressure, even during seemingly ordinary moments. It makes everything from functioning at work to relaxing at home much more difficult. Anxiety can stem from various sources—past experiences, ongoing stressors, or future uncertainties. It manifests in several ways. For some, it’s a sense of dread or overwhelm. For others, it's feeling on edge or even trapped. For most, it’s utterly exhausting.

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

You may notice that certain patterns of thought and behavior make you feel trapped. You may find yourself spiraling in a recurrent loop of distressing thoughts and time-consuming behavior. Is it anxiety or OCD? Sometimes it’s difficult to tell – particularly with internal compulsions – which are mental acts that drive you to perform in response to obsessive thoughts. Unlike more visible external compulsions, such as handwashing, cleaning, or checking, internal compulsions can be difficult to discern. Recognizing these patterns is the first step toward exiting the loop and regaining control of your life.
